What I’ll work on giving/sharing with you?
The focus at De Lejitos will continue to be mainly on everything that goes on with El Tri, but in the following months, I will try to add more thoughts on what goes on in La Liga and Mexican footballers’ performances in Europe.
But as I’ve noted in the past, my main intention continues to be to rebuild De Lejitos and publish stories, opinion pieces, profiles, interviews and features. Most of them, surrounding Mexican football, Spanish football and El Tri.
Since early 2018, I’ve worked in growing the podcast Resortera Wave. My goal is to publish all the episodes here from now on, and that way I can add more content that you will get first. So be in the lookout for those upcoming episodes! In English and Spanish, like always.
De dónde vengo, a dónde voy
I’m trying to remember when was the first time I wrote an article about Mexican football, if I recall correctly, it happened sometime around October 2006. I titled that article “Successful Mexicans in European Soccer,” which was published in my high school newspaper called The Burr.
Since that moment, I developed a curiosity and appreciation for Mexican football and Spanish football. I read a lot about La Liga because of Rafael Márquez’s great displays with FC Barcelona, but I also watched every PSV game to catch a glimpse of Carlos Salcido.
From 2006 until this day, I tried to connect all the dots of the stories I’ve read, heard and covered. It’s been a phenomenal ride, and something I like to talk about whenever given the chance.
There’s still a lot to write and tell. I’m looking forward to every bit. To those who have spent time reading my work, I appreciate it, de todo corazón.
